Adventures Await: January Update
We've officially wrapped up the first month of the year, and let me tell you, things are already on the go! I'm excited to start off the year with a trip. Right now, I'm knee-deep in powder, riding the slopes and experiencing the beauty of northern Japan. I’ve been yearning to come back here. It has been 8 and a half years, and I’ve missed it very much. Here are a few photos I took with my Fujifilm camera on the first few days.
But hey, Japan's just the beginning. In the months ahead, I've got some exciting journeys lined up. From the untouched beauty of Svalbard, where I'll be setting sail with Natural World Safaris, to the breathtaking waters of French Polynesia, where I'll be diving with humpbacks in crystal-clear waters. Both destinations are guaranteed to be nothing short of mind-blowing. And hey, if you're feeling adventurous, there's still space for you to join me on any of these trips.
And then, of course, there's Iceland — the land of fire and ice. It is the place I call home, and I can’t wait to continue exploring it further with the camera in hand. Iceland has brought attention to the news around the world for the past couple of years due to volcanic eruptions. Volcanoes are a part of life here, and as I am writing this, February 8th, a new eruption has started.
The eruptions potentially come with growth but sometimes, sadly, it also comes with destruction. The impact the volcanoes have is something I like to continue documenting. This scene below, from the eruption started on January 14th, has been the most surprising to me, and looked like something from an alien planet, as the people in these excavators and bulldozers frantically digging trenches and buildong walls, trying to redirect the lava and to save the town.
Local geologists are predicting that we can expect eruptions on a regular basis for the next couple of months. I already have my volcano bag packed, ready to go as soon as I get back on the island.
