Japan 2025: April Update
It’s been a busy start to the year, and I’m excited to finally share a few highlights with you. From snowy adventures in Japan to new milestones with Kogia and beyond, there’s been a lot going on behind the scenes. Thanks for following along - I really appreciate the support!
My goal going forward in life is to spend more time outside - photographing beautiful landscapes, fascinating animals, and vibrant people. In Japan, you can experience all three. If you're willing to step off the beaten path and follow your curiosity, you’ll find endless moments that capture your attention. I spent most of my time skiing and exploring the northern island of Hokkaido, but one of the highlights was seeing the Tancho-Tsuru (red-crowned crane), a bird we often encounter only through origami.
The tricky part after a trip like this is sitting at the computer and distilling the images down to a small selection—ones that not only tell a story but also capture the magic of a place.
Here are some of them:

Some other things I’ve been working on this year:
At Kogia, we hosted a workshop in Wales as part of our fellowship program, where we provide camera gear and mentorship to ten young storytellers focused on nature, wildlife, and conservation in their own communities.
I was also honored to be selected as one of the EC-50 at The Explorers Club, and recently, Rolling Stone published an article I was interviewed in about the dearMoon space project that I was part of.
